2024 Annual Meeting

To maximize participation amongst our nationwide membership, our annual meeting will also be held virtually via Zoom.

The Annual Meeting of the Membership will include highlights of the past year and insights for the year ahead. Results of the vote for officials’ nominees will be announced. Up to 500 ACCU members will be able to join the live Zoom conference. Please note: this event is for ACCU members only.

Board of Directors Nominees

Barbara Dickerson (Ph.D.)
3-Year Term

Barbara Dickerson (Ph.D.)  is a seasoned professional with a varied and diverse professional and community engagement background. Her academic preparation led to successful roles within the field of education for over four decades. She began her career in the K-12 system in Arizona before assuming positions in post-secondary institutions.  Barbara has held faculty and administrative roles at Arizona State University and Grand Canyon University.  She also lectured abroad in China, South America, and Africa.  Her professional life also encompasses her roles as Mental Health Liaison for the 32nd Congressional District in California, Executive Director in a faith- based nonprofit in San Gabriel Valley and Administrator of a local foundation.

Barbara maintained an active role in her community in California serving on several civic organizations which led to her being named Woman of the Year by the Legislator from her District and Citizen of the Year by the Business Chamber of Commerce. In addition to serving on the Board of ACCU, she was an elected official with the K-12 District and the local community college. She also spent time mentoring young women at Azusa Pacific University.

Since relocating to Phoenix, she and her husband have become active members of McDowell Church. Barbara has returned to Arizona State University as a member of the university management team. She has chosen to support with her time and resources a local agency, Thrive AZ, a faith-based nonprofit, focused on aged out foster youth.

Lisa Penberthy
3-Year Term

Rev. Lisa Penberthy serves as COO for Dannah Investment Group, LLC in Dallas, Texas. Her primary focus is to oversee the strategic structure as well as the day-to-day operations. Previously, she was the Executive Pastor, Director of Operations at San Diego Rock Church. Rev. Penberthy is an ordained minister with The Foursquare Church in which she has served in various ministry capacities at both the local church and the Foursquare denomination for more than 25 years. She values lifelong learning and is an adjunct professor at multiple higher education institutes. In addition to serving on the board at ACCU, she serves on the board of a church plant in Sonoma, CA, and volunteers in her community by serving on the local high school baseball boosters and a volunteer chaplain.

Lisa has earned an A.A. from Antelope Valley College, a B.A. from Life Pacific University, formerly Life Bible College, an M.Div. from The King’s Seminary and an MBA with dual concentration in Non-Profit Management and Human Resources from Corban University.

Jason Tavarez
3-Year Term

Jason Tavarez graduated with his BA from the University of Texas, and then went on to earn his Juris Doctor from The University of La Verne (ULV) College of Law. During his time at ULV, Jason served as an Assistant Coach and Graduate Assistant for the Track and Field and Cross-Country programs. After graduation, he worked as a Contract Coordinator for Azusa Pacific University School of Nursing, then moved on to become the Risk Manager for APU’s Office of General Counsel.

In 2020, Jason moved to Santa Barbara and accepted a position as Westmont College’s Director of Institutional Resilience and Risk Management, where his duties will include developing risk mitigation strategies and policies, managing the college’s insurance program, and facilitating legal assistance.

Supervisory Committee Nominees

Kyle Rodgers
3-Year Term

Kyle’s mission has always been helping people unlock their greatest potential through intentional planning and taking appropriate risks.  He attended Life Pacific College in San Dimas, CA in 2008 and is a Licensed Minister with The International Church of The Foursquare Gospel.  His first assignment was working in the national headquarters for The Foursquare Church in Los Angeles, California where he spent three years working in the National Church Office, and two years working as the Project Manager for The Office of the CFO where his primary responsibility was tracking churches financial health and coordinating care to see that health improved.

He left the non-profit sector in 2015 to go into business with his father and has been challenged and stretched both personally and professionally ever since.  “My Dad often says that it’s any father’s dream to work with their son, but I would add that it’s any son’s dream to have the respect, encouragement, and wisdom passed on to them from their Dad.”  Together, they add strength by bringing a multi-generational approach to Dannah’s investment team.

Adam Davidson
3-Year Term

Adam serves as the vice president of administrative operations and corporate secretary of The Foursquare Church. In this unique role he is responsible for aligning and orchestrating the organization’s efforts to achieve its mission through effective and ethical management of business and financial operations.

Since becoming a Foursquare minister in 1994, Adam has served in many leadership roles, including church planter, district administrator, camp director, national church administrator, executive pastor, director of operations, chief operating officer and, most recently, director of administrative operations overseeing the corporate business and finance of the organization. Adam earned a bachelor’s degree in business from Ball State University and a Master of Arts in strategic leadership from Life Pacific University. Among his responsibilities is providing strategic leadership; helping lead the formulation of the Foursquare’s annual operating plan; monitoring demographic, legal and church trends; and overseeing Foursquare’s aligned businesses (loan fund, insurance, investments, properties, camps, and conference center); His background in sales, marketing, business development, finance, human resources, and operations management gives him a business-minded perspective within The Foursquare Church.
